Who am I?
I have a degree in History and started work in Industry. Two years in sales was enough to know that although I could sell, sometimes very successfully, it was not something I necessarily enjoyed. Project Management beckoned and I found my forte moving into a management position within 3 years of starting work.
Somewhere along the line I bumped into the creative industry and ended up working at London’s top corporate identity agency, Wolff Olins, where I was the first of several implementation managers recruited to work with consultants and design teams. While I was there I worked on two very large projects for Prudential and Akzo, saw the birth of desk top publishing and the death of phototypesetting.
This was followed by a seven year stint at a design led architectural sign design and manufacturing company, working for some of the largest construction companies, blue chip clients and institutions in the country. This gave me a perculiar insight into many different facets of the business world. I was a Director and Company Secretary.
In 1996 I started out on my own freelancing and working mainly for a small PR and marketing consultancy in the depths of Wiltshire. Over the years I have been involved with several small companies that have prospered with little or no marketing resource. Notably, two of these were spotted, bought and made their directors very happy.
Now I aim to provide an outside marketing resource to start-ups or established companies looking for a little extra help. I work with a number of like minded individuals upon whose talents I draw on an almost daily basis. Graphic designers, web gurus and a host of web services enable me to provide a unique service.
